The passing of the Student Savings Club discount cards will provide students with money-saving options at local businesses.

Indiana State is now the first university in Indiana to offer this program.

Local businesses are being contacted to have their names on the card, and the cards will be distributed in the coming months.

The cards will be valid for one year and will be new every year.

In a previous interview, Hillary Davidson, president pro-tem of the Student Senate, said the free discount card will be available for students, faculty, and staff.

"The card is free," Davidson said. "It's like a high school booster club card, but without the selling part."

Davidson said the program is a plus for people who use the card and local businesses.

"Students will get discounts and the businesses will get more business. It's a win-win situation," Davidson said.

The Student Savings Club has been in business for 11 years.
